Notice

Immersion heaters can be used in different applications. In order to meet the heating requirements of a specific application and have a safe operation in the environment within which a heater operates several factors should be taken into consideration in the design of Screw plug or flanged immersion heaters. The following are a number of criteria that should be considered:
  • 1. The pressure rating and the material of a flange/ screw plug
  • 4. Liquid level, to ensure that the immersion heater’s heating zone immersed in the liquid.
  • 2. The sheath material of the tubular elements.
  • 3. Watt density, flow velocity, outlet temperature.
  • The sheath material type of a tubular heater depends on the operating temperature and the corrosivity of the medium within which the heater will operate. The watt density distribution on the surface of a tubular heater is critical for two reasons. First it determines the temperature that a heating element sheath will attain within the conditions that the heater is subjected to. The second reason is that every material has a specific maximum watt density that it can tolerate during its heating cycle.
